Amy and Traci have vastly improved the quality of my life. Swimming weekly not only relieves my arthritic pain, it makes me stronger and happier, too. Really! I have been swimming for 5 months now, and I have a jollier demeanor, improved agility, and better balance. My mom says that Splash Dog is "Pet Heaven" and that Amy and Traci are my angels on earth. We are both grateful for the boundless passion and dedication they show each and every client, human and canine alike!

Wizard O'Dishoo

My husband and I saw Splash Dog at the 2009 Chicago Family Pet Expo. Our 12 year old Golden Retriever "Wizard" began swimming in March of that year. We took him swimming weekly for exercise, which helped him lose weight.

In June he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer). We were faced with the decision to amputate his left front leg at the shoulder. To build strength and get him ready for surgery we swam him 3 times a week. After the amputation he continued to swim several times a week to keep his remaining legs strong. Despite the loss of a front leg he was very mobile, happy, and no longer in pain.

The staff at Splash Dog has been wonderful, they treat each dog as their own. Swimming has helped get Wizard through a very difficult time. We are grateful for what Splash Dog has done for him.

Splashdog's swim therapy has helped our dog get through the last year.

After two knee surgeries and a diagnosis of severe degenerative arthritis, our 6 year old Newfoundland Samson had been confined, on the surgeon's orders, to the living room. We had to use a harness to get him up and down the stairs, and he was regularly falling down. It was very hard for us to see him spend his days without moving, no longer sticking his head in the fridge everytime we opened it or hopping up expectantly anytime someone was going out, in hope of a walk.

Then we were referred to Splashdog by a friend and started taking him for two half-hour sessions a week. The improvement was steady and quickly he was able to take real walks around the neighborhood again.

Then his "good" knee went out and he underwent a third surgery. However this time his recovery was completely different, he progressed quickly and did not experience the pain nor the limitations of before.

Now we're as committed to maintaining his swimming as we are about taking him on walks and feeding him good food because we have seen what a tremendously positive impact it has had on his well-being. Simply put- thanks to Splashdog we have our dog back!

Noble Robert

June 2009

Hi Splash Dog,

Noble Robert here. When we first met six weeks ago I had just been adopted into a new "pack". I had no idea my new human was such a health nut. You see my last owner (my mom calls him the Bacon-Fryer) gave me too much food, not enough exercise, and it took its toll. I weighed in at 96 lbs. , could hardly walk on my three legs and I had lots of pain when touched. Yuk!

My new mom never gives me snacks, and started massages to help with the pain, but where everything changed is when she signed me up with Splash Dog! (They give me little healthy treats when I swim)

After the very first week I saw amazing things. I don't like to dwell on it but I only have three legs and a stump! I even lost almost all of my tail.

This being said, I'd like you to know that with all the stretching & swimming my stiffness and pain is gone. I have lost 13 lbs. and can get around so much better. With all that weight off I can relax and move parts of my body I never could! The best part is my tail now can move and I can communicate with it again. I feel like a new dog & I have so much more confidence!

Thank You,

Noble Robert

p.s. Thanks for making me that special platform for me to rest on in the pool so I don't slip.

When Bert first saw you, his left rear hip and his right rear knee had been injured. He was barely walking, needed lifted up stairs, had gained too much weight, and both his body and his spirit were atrophying.

Your wonderful service of water therapy at Splash Dog has repaired his body and his spirit. Additionally, Bert is "the biggest loser," having lost 16 pounds. The best thing is that although 10 years old, Bert has the energy of a puppy. I can't thank you enough for what Splash Dog has done for Bert.

Sincerely,

Bert's Mom - Jill
